App builders / A recorded comparison
Choose how you’ll change the app after it exists. We used Bubble’s visual editor and asked Lovable to generate a coffee-subscription page. Bubble keeps the app on Bubble’s platform. Lovable gives you the code.
We drew a button and set it to open a URL. Bubble’s issue counter changed from one to zero when the action was complete.
One sentence produced a styled landing page in about 2½ minutes in our session. Lovable added imagery, an offer and a brewing-style picker.
Limit of this test. The tasks differ. These clips show two ways of working, not a comparison of build speed.
Bubble’s gallery listed more than 1,600 templates. The template we opened showed a rating, an install count and a Get template button.
Lovable’s gallery listed more than 200 community templates. The project page showed 22.4k remixes, a preview and a Create your own button.
Limit of this test. Gallery counts describe those recorded sessions. We didn’t test every template.
Bubble’s agent presented a plan for approval, built a hero section and listed two unfinished properties. The editor also offered Undo.
The code view showed TypeScript files, a Supabase connection and a Download button. The free plan marked editing read-only.
Limit of this test. The Bubble clip shows editing. Bubble’s export limit comes from the published comparison. We didn’t move and run either app on another host.
We created a Customer type with Full name and Signup date. Bubble warned that the new table was public and showed per-field privacy settings.
Lovable enabled Lovable Cloud, created a customers table and connected the signup form. We didn’t test access from separate customer accounts.
We installed the official Stripe plugin. It opened a configuration page asking for API keys.
The finished app suggested implementing Stripe checkout. This clip doesn’t show a checkout built or a payment processed.
Limit of this test. We didn’t complete a payment in these clips. Opening privacy settings doesn’t establish that customer records are private.
Our reading of the evidence
Bubble keeps the design, workflows and database privacy rules in its visual editor.
The team can keep changing the app without taking over a codebase.
The catch: Bubble won’t export a runnable copy of the app.
Choose Lovable instead when engineers need the repository.

For a side project that's fine. For something mission-critical it's the whole risk, and it's the exact thing Lovable lets you avoid.
Describe the app to Lovable. Or give Lovable a spec you already wrote in Jira, Linear or Notion. Lovable returns a working app. The code is yours to keep.
Lovable also builds customer-facing apps. Lovable’s pages use the narrower label “internal-tool builder.”
A founder shopping for an MVP can read that label, assume Lovable isn’t for them, and go to Bubble by default.

Question: Can a Lovable Pro builder offer purchases to users inside a customer-created mobile app made from their Lovable project?
Summary: On Pro, a builder can add web checkout to their Lovable web app via built-in Paddle or Stripe payments. That checkout works on mobile browsers and in PWAs. There is no native app store distribution from Lovable, and no native Apple IAP or Google Play Billing - those are unavailable through the platform.

Bubble and Lovable start free. After that Bubble gets more expensive as your app gets used (workload units), Lovable as you keep building (Build credits). Lovable’s backend activity and in-app AI use Run credits. These are starting plan prices. Usage and outside services can add charges.
On these answers Lovable is the cheaper or equal option at every stage, and the gap widens as you grow. Switch AI usage to heavily and they cross at launched instead.
At this stage Bubble and Lovable cost you nothing. You can try the idea before paying.

Follow the research
We placed a button and set its action in Bubble. Lovable generated a coffee-subscription page from our request. We also opened templates, code and data tools. The payment clips show Stripe setup and a suggested next step.
The button in Bubble and landing page in Lovable are different tasks. They don’t establish which builder is faster. We didn’t complete a payment or test customer access from separate accounts.
The Stripe recording shows a Bubble plugin installation. Lovable’s payment clip shows a suggested next step. Capabilities not demonstrated in those clips use linked sources. A matching checkmark doesn’t mean Bubble and Lovable implement the capability the same way.
You can't leave with the code.
Bubble cannot export an independently runnable app as source code. Its app-definition JSON import/export remains unconfirmed. Moving the app elsewhere means rebuilding its logic, and version control tops out at 10 branches.

Native device features and localization need more work.
