No-code AI app builders

We compared the biggest names in no-code AI app builders: Bubble, Lovable, Base44 and Replit. Find a fit for your app, budget and how you want to work.

The one thing that splits them

Three let you export code. Bubble keeps the app.

Code export gives a developer the files. Moving the whole app takes more work. Base44’s exported files can still depend on its database and sign-in services.

Bubble lets you export your records. Moving the app itself means rebuilding it. Choose Bubble if its visual editor is worth keeping the app on that platform.

20 capabilities have a confirmed yes for some products and a no for others. Those differences can narrow your choice. The tables also show shared features and anything we haven’t confirmed.

Which one fits you

You don’t have to know which one is best. You have to know what you’re building.

Bubble and Base44 both let you control who sees each record. Need the web app to stay live without a subscription? Base44 can do that. Bubble can’t.

The finder also checks code export, app-store preparation and budget. You can also choose what rights you’re willing to give the vendor over your work.

1What are you building?
2Where does the code have to end up?
3How do you want the building to go?
4What can you spend?
5What do you need in writing?

Who each is for

Choose how you want to build and maintain the app.

Bubble lets you edit workflow steps directly. Base44’s diagram sends edits through AI chat. Bubble also builds native mobile apps. Base44 packages a web app for the stores. Consider Lovable or Replit if you want to work with the code.

Bubble

Choose it if

You want to change workflow steps and data permissions yourself in a visual editor. Bubble also builds native mobile apps. AI can help you start, and you can then edit the rules directly.

Consider another option if

You need to take the app’s source code elsewhere. Bubble lets you export records, but moving the app means rebuilding it. A live app also needs a paid plan.

$32 billed monthly for Starter (Web), the first paid plan

Checked September 7, 2026

Lovable

Choose it if

You want to build a web app and hand the code to a developer through GitHub. You can export the code through GitHub without paying for a download.

Consider another option if

You need built-in app-store packaging or want to start from an existing codebase. Lovable doesn’t include those routes. Consider Replit for an existing project, or compare the other builders’ mobile options.

$25 billed monthly for Pro, the first paid plan

Checked September 1, 2026

Base44

Choose it if

You want a portal or internal tool you mainly change through chat. You can publish a web app on Free within its usage limits. Its paid workspace covers multiple apps.

Consider another option if

You want to edit workflow steps directly. Base44’s diagram sends changes through AI chat. Code export needs Builder, and moving away also means replacing hosted services such as the database and sign-in.

$20 billed monthly for Starter, the first paid plan

Checked September 7, 2026

Replit

Choose it if

You want to work with an existing codebase, other programming languages or a command line. Replit lets you work with the project files and download them on any plan.

Consider another option if

You want built-in controls for who sees each record or a visual workflow editor. Replit’s approach needs code for those jobs. Consider Bubble or Base44 for record controls, and Bubble for direct workflow editing.

$20 billed monthly for Core, the first paid plan

Pricing

Monthly billing starts at $20, but launching and exporting cost different amounts.

Base44 Starter is $20 billed monthly. Bubble Web Starter is $32. Pay yearly and the monthly equivalents are $16 and $29. Base44 can publish a web app on Free. Bubble Free is for development.

Base44 code export, workflows and store-file downloads need Builder. That’s $50 monthly or $40 a month paid yearly. Bubble mobile publishing has separate plans. Usage and connected services can add to either bill.
